(… or How to Properly Eat a Cookie)

Yes, there are proper ways to eat a cookie.  Just biting into one, chewing and swallowing – maybe washing it down with milk, coffee or whatever your choice of beverage may be – is not the right way.

Watch kids.  They know the secrets we adults forgot:  A cookie isn’t just a cookie.  It is an experience!

And the correct method differs for different cookies.

Gingerbread Men:  Eat the head first then nibble off the arms and legs.  And everyone knows about that certain cookie where you eat the middle first and save the chocolate cookie outside for last.  Then there’s always the “dunk, no dunk” question.

The point is – it’s an experience.  A cookie is not nutrition; it is fun and excitement and joy.  It’s an affirmation of life and reward.
